Can I Ride an Electric Scooter in Winter?

Yes — with a few adjustments. We explain how much range decreases at low temperatures, which tires to choose, and how to store your scooter in winter.

Can I Ride an Electric Scooter in Winter?

An electric scooter is perfectly suitable for winter riding, but the Li-ion battery is sensitive to cold. The range decreases by 20–30% at 0 °C, and up to 40% at –10 °C.

Before Riding

Store the scooter in an enclosed, unheated space (garage, basement). Before riding, bring the battery indoors to a warm place for 30 minutes — this will ensure it delivers the expected range.

Winter Tires

M+S (all-season) tires are available for e-scooters, offering better grip on wet and cold asphalt. Riding on icy or snowy surfaces is not recommended.

Visibility and Protection

Days are shorter — check all lights, add reflective elements and light deflectors. LED headlights and taillights are standard equipment on our models.

If You Don't Ride in Winter

If the scooter will be unused for more than a month, charge the battery to ~50% and (if removable) store it indoors at 10–20 °C. Check its status every 6 weeks.
