E-Scooter Registration and Insurance: What You Need in Slovenia
Everything about the registration process, mandatory insurance, license plates, and costs for electric scooters in AM and A1 categories.

An e-scooter is a vehicle and must be registered, equipped with a license plate, and have mandatory vehicle insurance — just like any gasoline scooter or moped.
What We Arrange for You
When purchasing from e-Skuter.si, we prepare all documentation: the COC Declaration of Conformity, proof of ownership, and technical data for the administrative unit. You receive the scooter ready for registration.
Registration Process
With the documents, visit any registration organization (AMZS, Petrol …). You will need your ID card, a driver's license of the appropriate category, and proof of insurance.
Insurance Cost
Mandatory vehicle insurance for an AM e-scooter in Slovenia costs around €60–90 annually, and for an A1, it's €100–150 — depending on the insurance company and your bonus.
License Plate
AM scooters have a smaller yellow plate (moped), while A1 scooters have a standard white motorcycle plate. Both are issued by the administrative unit or registration organization upon registration.
