Insurance

Mandatory motor insurance AM: 60–90 € annually. A1: 100–150 € annually. No comprehensive (kasko) insurance, which is rarely recommended for scooters given their value.

Electricity

For 5,000 km annually and consumption of 3.5 kWh/100 km, you use 175 kWh, which at 0.17 €/kWh costs ~30 € annually.

Service and Wear Parts

Annual service: 40–70 € (brake inspection, wheels, calibration). Brake pads (every 2 years): 20 €. Tires (every 3–5 years): pair 60–100 €.

Technical Inspection

AM mopeds do not require a technical inspection. A1 vehicles need one every 2 years — cost ~25 €.

Annual Total

AM: 150–220 €. A1: 200–280 €. For comparison: a petrol scooter, including fuel and oils, costs 600–900 € annually for the same usage.
